This year's Jubilee Queen Contest will be Wednesday September 7th at 7:45 pm. There is a dinner before your interview with the judges and myself. The contestants will ride the Express Wagon in the Grand Jubilee Parade. We do have a practice that Monday.

For the contest you will need to write and memorize a 60 second radio commercial promoting the Jubilee. You will also have your interview with the Judges at the Banquet Hall after the dinner and be asked two questions during the contest. The only other thing is the promenade. The contest is very short.

The Queen & Court will be excused from school on Thursday & Friday of the Jubilee. They will attend all 5 days of the Jubilee and will attend the various activities, participate in demonstrations, present trophies and ribbons to winners of the competitions, attend the quilt show, assist with Kid's Day, assist with auction, and attend Sunday Church Service. The Queen will also attend are parades as well as help with NCRVFCo. fundraisers throughout the year.

There are 9 parades that I ask that the Queen attends. There are also Buckwheat Suppers, one of the fire departments biggest fundraisers, that I also ask the Queen to help serve - there are 2 in the fall and 2 in the spring. The Firemen's Golf Scramble is another fundraiser for the fire company that the Queen should try and attend.
