Besides Firefighting and Vehicle Accidents, we also do a variety of specialized training, including: Rescue, Farm Rescue, Confined Spaces, HAZMAT, Water Movement, Grain Bin Rescue, and others. Most of our members are trained in Hazardous Material Operations, and we have 2 members on the Somerset County HazMat Team. In the past 15 years the department has spent thousands of man hours in specialized training to better serve the community.
We are located in New Centerville, a small rural town nestled in the beautiful Laurel Mountains of Somerset County, surrounded by stunning wooded scenery and dairy farms. NCRVFC is most notably known for it's Farmers & Threshermens Jubilee - a 5-day community event held annually in the late summer. Currently in its 67th year, it draws people from all over the northeastern united states.
The fire company also serves the community through outreach with our Childrens Fire Safety House, Open House events, Rabies Clinic, Banquet Hall, and hosting of the PA Game Commission 'Bear Check Station'.
